As with most designers, we collect all sorts of things. Here is a small selection of Victorian portraits that I have been collecting, mainly from New York and London. What is engaging about these, is not only the haunting way that these people have been captured, but more importantly the individuality of identities that each Photographer’s studio created. The negatives of these images were held at the studio, so the backs of these prints assumed greater importance, as one needed to know which studio held the respective negatives.
